Hi,

The list of artists is way too long on my iPod. Therefore, I would like to create playlists of artists grouped alphbetically, such as a playlist called A-B-C, and another D-E-F, and so on.
I tried but it turned out all the songs were grouped into the playlist rather than the artists.

Is there a way to create Playlists so that the Artists name appears and not the song titles?

Thanks for your help.

No, it's not. A playlist is a list of songs to play. That should explain it. Unfortunately the Ipod is geared to list the song name first (as is Itunes). It's the one column in Itunes you can't rearrange.

Thanks Big Newt. Are you aware of any script or of any other ideas that would help?

why wouldnt a smart playlist work...criteria
artist begins with a
artist begins with b
artist begins with c
then have it match any criteria

while smart playlists can select artists by their first initial, the problem is that on an ipod all playlists display only song names, not artist names. the op is asking to have a playlist of artist names, which is what many of us would like to see.
