Computer wont read IPOD

my ipod is about a year old and for some reason now my computer doesnt read my Ipod ,it wont update my songs , it will charge but it doesnt read it, i have tried it on other computers and it doesnt read it either, do u think its the firewire cable ? or could it be the ipod ?

This is a common problem (if it is indeed that situation) and is easy to fix. Simply reset your iPod by holding down the Menu and Select buttons for a few seconds until the Apple logo comes up. Then plug your iPod in. It should resume transfers as normal.
