Bought this the other day, based on reviews/comments from this site ($190 Costco). As they say the sound is terriffic, both lower and cranked. Bass is outstanding, and adjustments make a difference, depending on what you're listening to. The remote is fine from across my bedroom (I don't know why they make such a big deal about the range in the review). The dock/door hold the Ipod securely (no scratches). The video out (component or Svideo) works great (no sound out, just video, you listen to the box), looks great even music videos. Charges the Ipod. Compared to the Bose ($300) it sounded WAY better in the stores. I didn't listen to the Apple unit. And the fact that you can use batteries is a plus (8 size D). I'm happy with it, and I swore I wouldn't buy such a unit when I got my Ipod (too expensive, probably sound bad). But the longer I had it the more situations I came upon where I wanted to hear music where there wasn't any (kitchen, outside barbeque, bedroom, picnics).
