I am considering purchacing a Ihome or other home speaker solution. the problem is that i use a Speck Toughskin case. this would prevent the ipod from being easily put into the speakers without first removing it from the case. An obvious solution would be for some sort of extender cable that could plug into the ipod and on the other end into the ihome. Does such a product exist? or, like most things ipod related, am i just stuck doing it their way?

can be used in-car or at home..if youre gonna use it at home, just feed the black and red wires with 12 volts from an AC adaptor...

right concept, wrong accessory. I am looking for something that extends the bottom port of the ipod so it fits in the ihome while in a case. the one you linked to changes it from ipod port to RCA jacks.

hmm.. i dont think there's such thing as ipod 30-pin to 30-pin port extension cable yet...you might wanna consider switching to Speck's "SKINTIGHT" skin--the description says it's "DOCKABLE"...
