The Yamaha MusicCAST (http://www.yamaha.com/yec/musiccast/idx_concept.htm) is the next step in home entertainment?

One easy-to-use system lets you play different music in up to eight locations at the same time.
Instead of keeping multiple stereo systems and piles of CD's scattered around your home, store all your music in the MusicCAST Server's 80gb memory. It holds upto 1000 CD's in MP3 format and transmits to wireless MusicCAST players (called "Clients") anywhere in the house. Clients can play different music selections at the same time from the same Server.
You can play creat individual playlists and even burn CD's using the Server's built-in recorder.
Clients work with MusicCAST wall mountable speakers or your existing audio equipment.

Anice idea but at $3200 for the server, 1 Client and 2 speakers the iPod is perhaps a cheaper alternative.

Still a nice idea.

Whoa...that thing is definitely an expensive household music distribution system.

For that kinda dough you could buy a license to MC9, use Media Server and setup a variety of audio workstations to get to the tunes over a 54g WiFi LAN. In fact, after setting up your much more powerful and customized system you'd have enough left over to pay for my sushi dinner tonight... ;)

Thanks for sharing the info though. I love to keep up on this kinda stuff and I'm not very good at keeping up anymore.:)

.....Want to add an additional MusicCAST Client with two speakers? - $750.....
...an additional MusicCAST Client only? - $600

$$$$$$$$$!!!!

I just thought it looked like a pumped up iPod when you take the speakers off the "Client".

No probs with the sharing;)

haha, put me down for 24!...(jk)... can each of the clients listen to different songs? I'd think so.

I'll take a look, because I need something like that (to add to my tech library)
