I currently have the Apple Universal iPod dock and I'm using it in my car - the problem is that my ipod doesn't stay in it very well due to the movement of my car when I'm driving. Does anyone know if there's a similar dock on the market (one that fits all ipods and has both the dock connector and line out) that is designed more for in-car use? I basically needs something that hold the ipod more securely than the universal dock but it needs to have both the dock connector and the line out. Thanks!

I am looking for exactly the same thing. Basically a form factor to support the ipod that has an integrated Ipod connector in it that supports Line Out and Power. Ideally, it would also have integrated cables, and a relatively simple way of mounting this thing to a plate style car mount (ie. with Velcro or even screws).

If you find something let me know and I'll do the same. I'm hoping that something like this exists but if it does, I haven't been able to locate it anywhere.

if yer looking for a more solid foundation, I think u'd have to compromise and use the specific dock for your model.

AFAIK no one makes a "vertical" iPod dock for use in the car. Amazing!

I've seen that one before but it's not what I'm looking for. I don't need something that plugs into the cigarette lighter because I already have a hard-wired power cord available to plug into.

No intergarated wires but Proclip makes a holder with a place to connect permanently a bottom dock connector. I currently am using a Blitzsafe Ford/Mlink1 V.1C on my 1999 Ford Ranger via the 20 pin cd changer input on back of stock head unit. On the Blitzsafe it comes with a dock connector that fits almost perfectly with the Proclip model 840651 . Works great just jump in my Truck slip my ipod into holder aligns perfectly with dock connector from blitzsafe. Works great.

That won't work for me either. The Ten Technology dock would be great if it didn't have the flexible arm. If they could just integrate the dock connector and line out into the dock part itself, that would probably work great for me. I can't believe nobody has come out with something like this - I couldn't possibly be the only person looking for such a solution for my car.
