View Full Version : !!! how can i play my itunes through my current car head unit

well.... i bouht my ipod a couple months ago n i heard that i can somehow connect it to my car stereo system n play the itunes in my car through my car sound system:shake: ...... so need help guys .

Welcome to iLounge.

I presume you have an iPod... your post didn't make it too clear. Also, what kind of head unit is it?

You basically have a couple of options, if your head unit has a iPod connection kit available for it then you can get one of those (they usually replace the CD changer) and you can then browse through your iPod using your head unit's controls. Apple have most of the options listed on their site:

If that isn't an option, then there are a few options available, but they won't let you control your iPod.

If your head unit has an AUX in socket you can run a mini-jack cable from your iPod to the AUX in socket and the iPod should play through it.

If your head unit doesn't have one of those then your are basically down to using a FM transmitter or a tape adapter (if your head unit has a tape deck). iLounge have reviewed most of the different options for FM transmitters, and you can find the reviews in the reviews section:

hmm .. it does support ipod , its written on its box ...so does that mean there is a connection kit available for that ???
n yes its a cd player , made pioneer ...
