I've read plenty of information about the battery cycles in the ipod and how there is no battery memory and how the battery's life is not affected by charges in the home, via AC power source. DC is a different story though. Cell phones often warn one not to allow them continuous charge in a car, as it will burn out the battery. Is this the case with the ipod too? I would think not, as many car docks offer continuous charging. Does anybody know the answer to this? I'm thinking about buying the DLO Transpod, I'm borrowing my brother-in-law's right now and am extremely impressed with it's signal (I'm currently using the iTrip) , however, it charges continuously when in use, hence my (possibly irrational) concern.

Any insight is appreciated,
Thanks.

What ultimately goes into the iPod is DC, regardless of the original source. The wall chargers are essentially AC to DC converters, so there is little difference in the output power.

While some devices run from the battery all the time and therefore would continually be charging the battery, the iPod actually shuts off charging when the battery is at full capacity and runs from the external power source, so you're not really continuously charging the iPod, but rather simply running from external power once the iPod has been fully charged.
