I have just got a new 3rd Gen 30Gb iPod and I love it!

I've been thinking ahead now that I have used it for 2 weeks the following things would bring further flexibility and convenience.

1. I know the Belkin car kit is coming out soon, but there has been no mention of a stand/holder for the car for your iPod to safety sit-in. I'm hoping for a device that is similar to a mobile phone car kit.
You get in, slot the iPod into the 'CarDock' and away you go!
Anyone heard news of such a product?

2. In the house with the iPod docked and connected to my Hi-Fi I would like to have a remote control. A infrared reciever on top of the iPod (using the same connector as the Wired remote, iTrip etc) would do the trick. It would only have to have the same controls as the wired remote.
The iTrip I've heard needs to be within 6ft of most FM receivers, I prefer a hard wired option. So the remote control would give me the ability to pause, skip across the room whilst my iPod is charging and playing on the dock!
I'll be keeping my eyes open for this type of product! Anyone heard news about this type of accessory?

Apart from that, can the iPod get much better!

Put the buttons back where they were.

iu totally agree i hate the new design, im still undecided about the rounded off look to it, i wish they would not use a dock and go back to firewire (bc currently i never remove my ipod from its case and on the new ones i would have to to connect it) and make a product that is like the reverse of iRock
what i mean is that if u plug this device in to a radio and plug something else into your ipod you could hear radio via ipod

Telinoz...your prayers (atleast one of them) hv been answered...

Dr Bott is taking orders for a remote for your home setup. Trying going to www.drbott.com...and search around.

My wishlist-just get rid of the bugs. I dont want anything more...other than to get rid of varying colours of the screens, clicks between tracks, freezing up, and inconsistencies btwn Mac & Win Pods!

Thanks!

I just hope I can get in Australia, if not it's good old mail order and extra charges!

After posting my original message I also heard Apple are releasing 2 new docks with IR. One is fairly basic and mimics the controls on the wired remote. The other has some extra features on it.
I'll keep my eyes open!

The Dr Bott one maybe ok to use in the car in conjunction with the std dock. If I use both it will act like a clamp and keep the iPod more secure when driving.
