Looks like a promising device, if pricey (especially for those added modules). But it does XM AND HD Radio as well as iPod navigation, and would fit perfectly in my car's double-DIN dash slot (though I need to check on required depth).

It would be great to hear from anyone who's had any experience with this h/u.

This is a bump for the same question. I'm looking for an excuse to get this too.............

I've messed around with it a little bit and I know someone who has one. It's pretty nice to use, though more expensive units do have more screen surface area.

once you add in satellite radio and navigation things get expensive, FAST. The only thing it comes with by itself is the FullSpeed for iPod. That said, now that I found it for not that much $$, I will probably buy one for myself.

Where did you find it for not that much $$?

I am trying to find a reason to justify getting one. I actually don't need video nor navigation ability, I just think that HU looks so cool!

well, the video isn't FANTASTIC, and to add navigation is about $900, so it's a good thing you don't want either!

I got mine for...$799 I think. The website is escaping me right now, but it was brand new factory sealed, with warranty. I'll look the website up on my credit statement when I get home.

I should add that the retail MSRP of $1100 is well under the cost of most eclipse units and many others. A similar unit in about the same price range (though without the fullspeed connection) is the kenwood 6109/7017/8017 seried (retails are different, but street prices come out about the same) the 6109 is a nice minimalist screen, and I considered that one too.

What kind of video inputs are on the back of it? I was thinking maybe using a second cable to connect as an alternative to play videos from the iPod...........

I don't know off the top of my head. I'd have to go pull it out of the dash to see. However, I don't think it knows how to behave like a TV for an alternate input, since the DVD player is integrated.

You can go to the Alpine site and download the Manual. I'm getting this radio installed as we speak. In the Manual the diagram says there is a Video Input Connector (Aux Input.) For as little as I'd ever watch Video in the car I'll probably just put them on regular DVD to play through the unit.
