I have an iTrip I use with my iPod in the car. The problem is that I sometimes like to crank the music up. Even with Sound Check off I can't get the music as loud as I can with CDs, is there a way to change this?

Thanks.

Nope.

Get a louder car amplifier. And while you are at it, get one that u can hook the iPod directly to it, not through FM.

I don't want to spend $ on an amp. I just want the same volume I get from a CD through my iPod.

FM transmitters, for the most part, stink. Given the lower SNR of FM, there's no way to get the same volume you're getting from a CD.

I know what u want, u said it very clearly on your first post. I wouldn't be suggesting the expensive method if there was an easy, free way. I am not salesman.

Try slapping an external antenna to the iTrip, it may improve it somewhat (result not guaranteed). There is post somewhere on this site about that... if modding is under your can-do purview, and having a wire sticking out of the iTrip is acceptable.

I had the same problem with my iTrip, but thankfully I have a Cassette deck as well as a CD player, and bought a cassette adapter. The Cassette player plays it 100x louder than the FM transmitter IMO.

I have a Schosche FM Transmitter and I find that it works really well.

lower the volume on ipod and increase volume on car radio
