At the moment I am looking for a in car solution for my iPod 5G 30GB. I've did some searching and found the JVC KS-PD100. This adapter allows me to connect my iPod to the CD changer input of my JVC aftermarket radio. I'm able to control my iPod through my radio and the iPod gets charged.
I am wondering, are there any looking who have this adapter allready? Because I know that I can control my iPod through my radio, but I am wondering if it's possible to keep using the iPod controls as well? Are those disabled during connection or do I only get a warning?
And how are the controls on your radio exactly? Are you able to browse through artists/albums/compilations?

I have the KS-PD100 connected to a KD-AVX2.
No, you cannot use the iPod controls, they are disabled and "JVC" shows on the iPod display.
The controls on the stereo are a bit awkward at first, but once I got used to it, I can navigate without any problems. Yes, you can browse Albums, Artists, Playlists, Songs, etc. To access one of the lists, you press UP on the 4-way controller. It will display Playlists, Albums, Artists, etc. for every time you press UP. Press DOWN to select the list. Once the list is selected, it shows each item on the list one at a time. Press RIGHT or LEFT to advance to the next item. Press and hold LEFT or RIGHT for about a second and it will jump up 10 or down 10. Press DOWN to select. It will then display the first track within that Playlist, Album, etc. and you can choose a song to play or press DOWN to select the first one. It displays artist/album on the first line and song name on the 2nd line. Navigating the iPod is nowhere near as fast as the iPod wheel, but is fairly quick especially with the ability to jump up and down by 10.

Hey Gnat,
Do you know if the pd100 will work with the JVC KD-LH910 CD Player. The adapter sound like it will be sufficient for me since I primarily only use shuffle but I want everything tucked away.

Yes, the PD100 will work with your LH910.

Unfortunately, yours has a control level of 1 while mine has a control level of 2. 2 is better, but I'm not sure what a level 1 is like. Here's some manuals:

Hopefully it's not that bad. I have actually really gotten to like the JVC's iPod navigation much better than even the scroll wheel on the Pioneer DEH-P680MP. Although the Pioneers work more like the iPod, it's much slower. The JVC's skip up 10 and down 10 make jumping around much faster.

Milenco,
Did you buy it and do you like it? I am nervous about having to learn to use the jvc head unit.

I just got this adapter and absolutely LOVE IT! Granted, I'm only dealing with an iPod Mini full of songs, but I found the interface to be very easy to use and nice an quick. The adapter is on sale right now for $24.99 at best buy and they've got the KD-G320 head unit on sale as well for $119.99. Couple that with the 10% off coupon for Labor Day (just do a google search and you'll find it), my total came to $132.98 before tax w/ free install (though they will charge you for the harnesses & if you need a kit). It's by far the cheapest solution I've seen to fully integrate the iPod into your car w/ an aftermarket stereo.

Help Please,
I have the same set up as above the pd100 & JVC KD-LH910 CD player. I love being able to control the Ipod from the Deck and remote. But last week, after 2 months of playing great, the head unit only flashes "file check." I have disconnected the Ipod, connected it to Itunes, and tried plugging the Ipod in at before, during and after turning on my truck.
I dont know what to do, especially since one day it worked and the next it didnt. The Idod seems to be fine, it is a 60g Video. It plays fine and the headphone jack all seem fine.
ANY ADVICE. Thanks,

I have the adapter and it works with the KD-AR360. Kinda funny to get used to the controls but its pretty functional. Somewhat a lag time b/w menus. Not terrible.
I saw my friend have this Clarion LCD deck with his Ipod hard wired into it and you can control the Ipod thru the touchscreen. I was like wow!
I see there is a JVC-7010 deck and it has a touchscreen and compatible with the KS-PD100.
Does anyone know if the Ipod can be controlled thru the touchscreen of the JVC-7010?
