Hey everyone!
I have to do a project on space for science class and my topic is "Who owns the solar system?"
I was wondering who you guys think should own it and why? This would help me alot by getting my project started. Thanks for your opinions and I will probably be able to use your reasons in my presentation.

i don't think anyone 'owns' it
I know there are companies that will sell you real estate on the moon. But I'm pretty sure there is no ownership or jurisdictions(?) throughout the universe

Earthlings are being awfully presumptuous if they think they have the right to declare any ownership of "the solar system." What if life from another solar system already has dibs on the other 8 planets? We've got enough terrestrial issues to deal with. Quite a cosmic question.

I own it. No one else. Me.

If you own it, then why do I keep getting the electric bill for it? That thing is killing me...................

I own it, and I am ####ed off. You guys have really stuffed up the third planet. Where are all the animals and plants I put there? Who kicked a hole in the ozone layer?
And who poured all that rubbish into the oceans?
Consider yourselves evicted, next Tuesday, and you are not getting your bond back!!!!

In all seriousness guys, what do you think? Maybe NASA, UN, all of us, or aliens if there are any?
Funny stuff though. Keep it coming.

No offense, but the ownership of the solar system doesn't really seem like a "scientific" topic. Also, no offense to the other posters here, but getting research from an iPod forum doesn't really sound like a valid point of reference. :D

Bill Gates owns it. But Al Gore actually invented it.

How can someone own the solar system? Why the hell would someone buy real estate on the moon? Seriously, I don't think anyone owns the solar system. But hey, I'm going to say that I own it, and it's all MY property.
You guys get out of MY solar system. If it isn't mine, prove that you own it.

What a dumb topic lol! OBVIOUSLY the sun owns the solar system. Even if all the planets got ####ed and tried to beat up the sun, the sun could still eat them all. Also, everything revolves around the sun showing how it is important :)
Steve Jobs owns the solar system, and right now Apple are working on a new application called “iUniverse” that will change the way you live your very existence...
