well i been running the ipod through the rca cable adapter for quite some time now. and all of a sudden for some reason in both my vehicles 05 lancer evo and my 93 240sx convertible. the sound either gets very staticy or i only get sound from the left side of the car. my only idea and what i seen to have noticed is if im holding the ipod it plays normal. or if i put the ipod at a certain angle where the wire from the headphone jack is hitting something its ok. but if not its horrible would anybody know how to remedy this?

the headphone jack on the ipod something is getting loose or something.
Is a possibility, althought unusual for an almost-new Pod. Can u reproduce the problem? kinda wiggle the plug? If so, have it repaired.

I hope u weren't expecting like an easy fix, like downloading a new updater... ;)

Does this problem also occur if you use headphones, while moving the cord a lot?

If it does, then your problem is with the iPod headphone jack, and apple should handle it for you, if you're in the warranty period.

If it's the headphone jack and you're out of the warranty period, one thing you can do is go for a belkin car kit for ipod, and get the audio from the belkin's audio out (which is supplied by the iPod's dock connector, rather than its headphone jack.)

If the problem doesn't occur with headphones, then it's your cable. In that case go for the new cables.

i used the headphones once, i think it might have something to do with the headphone jack.
i might try putting a lil bit bigger of a connecter possibly giving it a tighter fit before sending it back to apple
