USA Spec adapter trouble

After a real easy installation of the USA Spec Ipod adapter (thanks crutchfield for including the DIN tools with thi sorder) I had a big disappointment that the standaard Ipod Dock does not work with the adapter. If I plug in the adapter direct to the Ipod everythings works fine. If I use the Ipod my radio displayes the mesage; "no mag"
I like to use the Ipod dock because it allows easy insertion and retreval.
How to solve this problem?;
1. Modify the Ipod dock
2. Modify the adapter cable
3. Get a different dock

Who has encounterd this problem and what are the solutions?

if I understand u correctly: adapter -> iPod (WORKS). adapter -> dock -> iPod (NO WORK).

The iPod connector has a pin, and based on a resistor value, it does different things. Google for this item.

The dock may not be passing ALL the signals thru.

Best thing to do is to ask the Adapter people, hopefully they have a decent customer service desk.

That is what is happening. I have already sent out an e mail to the adapter people.
I used to have a FM modulator in my previous car but I do not want to go back to that route for several reasons. I would have no problem in opening the dock and making some changes but I have no clue what to change. I cannot find any information about the resistor.

USA spec adapter people are not responding to my mails and I cannot find there phone number anymore. It was posted on their site before. I think however now that this is a dock (apple) problem and I have to either modify my dock or find one.

what docking are you using ? maybe there are some pins missing on the connection also what vehicle is this ?
