Charger question

i got a confusing question I currently have the white Xtreme Mac (http://www.xtrememac.com/foripod/car_charger.shtml) 3G car charger and it really bothers me because i cant use it with my tripple AC outlet in my car. I have a radar detector, phone charger and ipod charger that all need power but the ipod charger only works in the car's stock AC outlet. Anyone know a way around this or a charger that works on foreign outlets??

I think what is confusing is that you are talking about AC in a car. All car's give DC sockets but not AC. I'm not really sure what you're talking about with a tripple AC outlet. If you have some three way DC socket then I wouldn't know why the charger doesn't work in it.

i have something similar to this. It doesn't work with the ipod carcharger, i have to use the stock outlet in the car, thus rendering the 3 outlets useless.

The triple charger does not output enough voltage when all three devices are plugged in. The iPod only recharges when there is 12v+ coming into the battery, but since the triple charger splits the signal into 3 outputs, the outputs don't produce enough voltage to charge the iPod...Maybe mod the charger so that it splits the voltage as long as the iPod has 12+volts, using a capacitor connected to a female car outlet. This would allow the iPod to charge, and a cell phone to charge simultaneously, but only when the car is producing enough power to charge the iPod + a little extra power for the cell phone.

thanks that was very helpful. however i dont think im going to mess around with wiring and capicitators and what now mainly because the tripple outlet charger is glued into my stereo console and will never come out. Oh well guess ill just have to unplug sometimes.

***By the way, the phone not being able to be charged is no big deal. Its those nights after i get off work late after listening to the ipod until it's dead and want music in my car for the way home that make it frustrating because i want my radar detector and music at the same time just in case of cops!***
