personally i like the ear buds that come with the ipod Aside that they dont' stay in your ear very well at times and they hurt after a while. The sound to me though is pretty decent, plus they are white and go with the ipod!
But anyways the point of this post was to give you guys a tip on eliminating an annoying occurance. If your like me and at school constantly taking out the buds and putting them in the pocket or wherever, the little foam pads come off ALL THE TIME. I took some super glue and glued in 3 spots on the actual buds themselves and just put the foam over it and it works great! it sounds like a horrible thing to do but hey..theyre only stock ear buds right??
i lost my left bud cover on my 1st day :(
i think i lost it when i took my ipod out from my pocket
and it is so stressing

i wouldn't either but the #### things REALLY don't stay in your ears without the foam pads
well since i lost mine , i wear it withour cover on my left ear and on the right ear i use a cover
IMO its better without the cover,... the cover hurt my ear after a while

Anyone know where to get more foam covers???
I was at Target yesterday and spotted some "Virgin Pulse" earbuds for $4.99 - I wanted some cheap ones to take on a trip. Anyway, they don't sound real good, but they come with silicone covers and a nifty case. As it turns out the silicone covers fit the ipod stock earbus just fine. I now use them instead of my black foam-always falling out-not comfortable-kinda itchy ones.

Ummmmm, I don't know where you can find the silicone covers - I just got mine off the pair of Virgin earbuds that I got at Target.

i hate radioshack, its service, its products, its employees. I do not support radio shack and will never go there again. Actually i think i dont even need those silicone things anymore

First thing I noticed with the stock earplugs was that they do hurt. Maybe I just was putting them in wrong or something, but they just straight up hurt so I grabbed an old pair of headphones, problem solved.

yeah which sucks because they sound pretty darn good i think. Nice highs and mids and you can still hear other people! Plus they are white and cool looking like the ipod and easy to put in.
They are kind of trucky sometimes to get in place well. The manual says they are to be put in and "twisted" so that they go in your ears. When put in properly...youll know because they hurt

I have never uesd the foam pads, they would only fall out and my ears aren't such a strange shape that without them the buds would not stay in my ears.
Those foams things only ever get dirty anyway. I wouldn't bother with them.

i normally hate earbuds cause they hurt my ears so badly after a little while, however, i have no problems w/the stock earbuds.
it doesn't hurt even when i use it for a long time. but i definitely need the foam padding.
that's my 2 cents.

Yes, they do hurt for the first little while, like new leather shoes. You have to break in your ears!

The bass is pretty thin on the stock earbuds, but I would like to keep using them if for no other reason they look cool with the ipod. What do people think about compensating for the bass with the ipod's built-in EQ?

Thanks for the glueing idea. I was thinking of glueing them on before, but I wasn't sure if that would damage the earbuds; I guess it won't.. :)

I've been using earbuds for such a long time now that I think my ear has molded LOL. So when I first put on the stock white earbuds they fit perfectly :)
