I'm in the process of researching Car Audio installations for the impending purchase of my first iPod (30 gb iPod Video), and I was hoping for some helpful feedback from users of the iLounge forums. I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 with the factory Infinity stereo system still installed. Sound quality is an important factor in my eventual choice, which is why I've narrowed my selection to the Scosche BlueLife system or the Peripheral iPod2car interface.

I'm somewhat familiar with the Peripheral iPod2car interface, but haven't heard, or read much about the Scosche Bluelife system. I am interested in hearing opinions and experiences (good & bad) from users of both options. Any and all input is appreciated as I'm still uncertain as to which solution is best for me. Thanks.

AFAIK, you would require Bluetooth 2.0 to transmit CD-quality audio wirelessly.

As I stated sound quality is a concern, and I admit I do not know enough about Bluetooth technology to qualify it as inferior or superior. The Scosche website states the BlueLife system is "1.2 Bluetooth

Even with bluetooth, u STILL have to wire the bluetooth receiver to the car, or is the Infinity have a built-in BT receiver?

I have a personal negative reaction to anything that attaches to the iPod back-pack style.

No, the Infinity stereo system in my truck does not have a built-in Bluetooth receiver, so technically the Scosche BlueLife system must be "hard-wired", but the iPod itself is free to roam within 30 feet of the receiver and still be operable. And yes, the Scosche BlueLife system would be more appealing without the tethered "back-pack, but I believe my options are limited if I decide Bluetooth is the technology for me.
