how many do you see a day?

hey. just curious to know how many people you see with ipods at school and to/from school. i've just started to realise that ipods are so common now, more than half my class have an ipod. i saw about 10 people with ipods on the bus after school, and about 9 carrying it with them between classes.... i knew ipods were popular around the world and stuff but not at mwsc...

like to hear what you see... (and im SO sorry of a whole heap of you think this is a pointless post....)

I see lots of iPod users each day (probably around 20-30).
Mostly on public transportation, like subway, train and bus. But also on the Campus where I work...

When walking to class about 10% of the people I see have iPods on. When in lectures, no one has them on. And when Im in the gym about 60% have iPods and 70-75% have some mp3 player.

On the ride to school in the car, I see a few people in Chicago around town that use iPods. But that's because I don't pay attention much because i'm listening to my own iPod in the car. Then at school I see the usual kids that have their iPods. Probably around 3-5 using them every day.

Now that school is out I don't see many on campus at all :) but during the semester there are tons around. I don't walk around looking for them, but I end up seeing them everywhere. And I have had one for a few years now. I was one of the first in my school. But not anymore. They are taking over!!!!

I don't see people's iPods so much as i hear about them. I know that a good chunk of my school has either an iPod or some other type of DAP.

...And on Tuesday, I will be among that chunk. :D

I see about 1000+. When you go to a large university with about 25,000 students you see alot, especially when it takes about 10 minutes minimum to walk from your dorm to your closest class. I see a lot in the gym too. It's fair to say that about 85% of people in the gym have them. I go to Virginia Tech by the way.

Every where I go I see those little white earbuds hanging from someone's ears. And its not just young people, it's all ages. I never really noticed how many people had them until I got my 5G...and there's no telling how many people have them that aren't using the stock earbuds because I live in Washington, D.C. and due to continuous iPOD robberies authorities recommend using 3rd party headsets. So, many people are doing that. iPODs are taking over. We are just a bunch of iPEOPLE living in an iWORLD!

I can't give a number, but of all of the people I see listening to music, 95% of them are using iPods. And I have about 2,080 people in my school.

in mexico, wich is not a first world contry, i see many, and im really impressed, how the ipod culture is growing, here in mexico you can see, like 10 to 20 nano's a day, and if ur lucky u can see video's one, in my school are like 15 including me with video one, and like 100 with nano's....

Yeah, in my campus, iPods have definitely reached saturation. More than half of the people I see walking around are carrying iPods, or at least have the trademark white earbuds which lead either to an iPod, or some other concealed device that they HOPE everyone thinks is an iPod. ;)

they also seem to be incredibly easy to lose. The library at my campus has a section in their lost and found dedicated to iPods. It's posed a real problem because "described your music player" doesn't really help in determining if a particular iPod really belongs to someone. :P

I go to the largest high school in the state of Illinois and let me tell you that I only see half of what I'd expect of seeing. You might think that I see tons and tons every day. I see maybe on average around 15 people who might have one out. Or maybe it's just because I'm not paying attention?

Hmm... well I've seen lots of nanos recently, a few have video ones and others have the older ones like my 4G. then again there could be more as a lot of people wander around town, to and from campus and around campus bearing the distinctive white earbuds.

I've eschewed white ear buds for my old-school sony wrap arounds from back in 1999. Anyone remember those? the ones with that went round the back of your neck and hang just off your ear? Still get lovely sound outta those.

wow. 3 pages. and i thought no one would respond. well, recently teachers are cracking down on mp3's at school, and it looks like its only the iPods theyre going for. i walked into the locker bay the other day with my ipod on and got told off for it. i got a warning and my ipod wasnt confiscated (this time). what ####ed me off was that there were like 3 other people listening to music (with black earphones) ... maybe its just cause the white wires and stuff stand out :S .... i just think they shouldnt just be looking for white earphones.

I go to a smaller school and it seems that about 1/3 of the students I see always walk around campus wearing headphones. Whether or not those headphones are connected to iPods, I don't know.
I personally know 5 people at school with iPods.

Oh, and my school is building a new student center. This new building is supposed to have an 'iPod Filling Station'... whatever that is.

i study in melbourne, and i see, plus my down and my two friends 5th Gens, in total about three a day on average, you may see the occational shuffle, but that is about it, apparantly apple NOT doing too well in melbourne

I really dont pay that much attention...I see a few on the bus in the morning and a BUNCH at the gym. Everyone at the gym has white ear buds hanging out of their ears. They all might not be ipods though...i've seen some other players with white earbuds too.

my school i was the first one to have an ipod in 6th grade. i had saved up 5 years prior in order to buy a really nice RC car, but as i got older i wanted an iPod more, and winded up getting a 4G for $279(My mom was a librarian. school discound 8-) )

But nowadays, i will see 3-4 ipods a day but know that 40-50 kids in my grade have one.

Myself i have a Broken 4G, a 1G my dad had that is hopelessly broken but i gave it my best shot at fixing, and a working 5G :)

I'm from Serbia, and you can't see ipods around here much,
cuz they are as twice expensive as in the US:

ipod video 30gb costs 465 dollars here, and most of the people just get to see ipod while it's shining in the store.

99,99% of people buy it somewhere abroad.
my friend was in NY and brought me mine :)

the most ridiculous thing is that they sell ipod socks separately here,
for 16 dollars EACH! hahahah idiots

My college is about 800 students, both on and off campus. Gun to my head, I probably see 3-4 a day, which is a good portion of the student body when one extrapolates the numbers.

suprisingly, i haven't seen any of the new classics yet though tons of the old generation ones

I think the vast majority of the people in my school (Taipei American School) have iPods. If they have anything else, it'd be a Zen or a PSP. Theft is a serious problem, so keeping iPods in pockets at all times is advisable.

I see about 20 and they're usually those 3rd generation Nanos. I love to just whip out my iPod Touch and laugh on the inside as they are all amazed.
