What can I use besides the Apple AV cable to show my videos on TV. I tried a cord that came with my digital camera, but only the audio worked, not video.

Swap the yellow and red cables around, it will work just fine.

i'm in the same boat as this guy. i switched them around as well and nothing but sound.

Make your own.
The wiring, outside sleeve to tip:
Video>Gnd>R-Aud>L-Aud.
If you cannot find a 4 circuit 1/" plug, you can use a regular stereo one with an extender around the plug, at the expense of the plug being kept in there (it just sits there) and you will lose left audio.
Otherwise, the cables are pretty cheap on E-bay.
