I got my IPod today and a few hours later I've already got a good 300 songs on it already so it's working well and I'm enjoying it! Even used it on the elliptical machine.

CD by CD, I want to rip my entire CD collection. For EVERY single one of the CD's I've done so far, I've gotten an error message on track 9 and have not been able to download track 9 from any of my CD's (8 so far). Some of them have problems with other tracks too, so I've got all my cds with sticky notes on each of them now "still need to do track 9", "still need to do tracks 6 and 9".

Driving me crazy. What's the problem? Why can't I download EVERY song from EVERY CD?

Some CD's won't let me download ANY songs. Now I'm going to have to re-buy the whole CD on itunes? What's up with that?

Thanks for the help!!!

Welcome. You don't have to buy a second copy of the CD just use other software to rip the CD's. This way you can test whether it's your CD drive or iTunes software. If your using windows you can use Lame & EAC to rip them. Then transfer the songs to the iTunes library.

You could also try putting a DVD/CD cleaner through your PC cd/dvd drive. You can use the same ones as you use for a normal DVD player. You can also try cleaning your cds before ripping.

The software programs Honeybee suggested are similar to iTunes, an alternative to ripping your CDs, but perhaps try the cleaning first to determine if it's a dust issue in your PC.
