With all the complaints about battery life I thought I'd create a poll to find out how all you guys are charging up your iPods. There maybe no correlation between charge method and battery life but I thought I'd conduct a little unscientific survey anyway.
If you reply could you say whether you're happy or unhappy with the battery life of your iPod, and if you've conducted Apple's "Battery Test" could you also inform us all of the length of time your battery lasted?
I'll start: I'm a happy bunny with a time of roughly 7hrs 45mins. Charge method: iPod > AC adapter.

I am very happy with my battery life, charging the same way as you.
What is "Apples 'Battery Test'"?

Two answers for me:
1. At Home: Firewire
2. At Work & Traveling: USB to AC Adapter

Battery Test: Charge your battery fully, select an album, set it to repeat over and over again, time how long the battery lasts before it dies. :)

actually I charge my ipod either after I sync it to my PC (just leave it connected) or charge it with a car charger.

Firewire when I'm at home at my computer, AC when I'm not.

At home, by firewire with the SpeckProduct's Flipstand Dock......
On the road? Probably firewire with the AC adapter (got this cord that combines a 4pin plug and 6pin plug into a 6pin socket.....the 4 pin goes to my laptop and the 6pin is power only....) I don't have USB 2.0 on my laptop (yet)....

Charge via dock with AC adapter. Apple battery test maybe 8 hours. I always stop around 8h when the battery is down to it's last tiny bit of charge as I'm afraid of completely draining it.

I use the dock and ac adapter ever since the 2.1 firmware came out. It seems after synch and the stupid worthless check mark ok to disconect is on the screen, the firewire does not charge the iPod. That was not the way it worked before the firmware upgrade, I was able to charge and listen through the dock with the fire wire plugged in.

I haven't tested mine yet...as I jsut got it on Christmas...I shall test it soon though. I use it throughout the day and at night I slip it into the Dock which is connected to my stereo so I can go to sleep to my music and have it charge at the same time. Repeat the next day. :)

When at home I use my dock and firewire. When I'm on the road or somewhere I use the AC adapter.

I use just AC adapter to charge most of the time. Some times I use Dock + AC adapter to charge.
I can get close to 8 hours of music playing on a full charge. But I noticed that if I play the music on and off over several days, the total playable music hours significantly reduced to around 4 hours or less before I have to recharge again. Has anyone noticed this?
