First let me start by saying thank you to the V-Moda team for participating in the chat 2 weeks ago, and shipping out some freebies :)

Being a recipient of a freebie, I was able to have a little bit of face time with this pair, and I have to say I'm impressed. Unfortunately a review like mine won't be as respected as say, Jacko's, because my ears are still in training so to speak, but I ask you take my opinion for what it's worth.

I've tried all the common low-end/cheap buds, such as the Sony 28LPs, the Panasonic black ones whose model number I forget, and the Sennheiser MX400, which were my favorite of the three. I've also tried the Sony 51s in-ear, Panasonic 50's in-ear, and the Sennheiser CX300.

Anyway, enough background. On to the review!

I'm going to be honest and say that as soon as I heard them, I was pretty much sold. The stocks of course do not even come close, while the three regular bud models I mentioned were beaten easily. It's got a pretty punchy bass which I enjoyed, perhaps slightly enhanced, I'm not sure. Let a more seasoned audiophile answer that one. The highs and mids are balanced, giving you a good, clean, crisp sound. The cable is the perfect length, I'd say, to have your ipod in your pocket without experiencing any tugging whatsoever. The look of these buds is nice, and the fit is better than the stocks. I still have some trouble keeping a bud in my left ear, but I've always had that problem for whetever reason.

The fit could be enhanced by using the included foam pads, but I for one didn't really like them. They seemed to muffle the sound a bit, perhaps they're a little too tough? I'm not sure.

Now, compared to the Panasonic and the Sony IEMs that I mentioned, I prefer these. However, to the Senns, these buds simply don't have the same punch. Of course, to be fair, the Senns are directly in your canal, so the bass has nowhere else to go but in. If I was to compare these to any other non in-ear bud that I've tried, I'd say that the bass is definitely much punchier while remaining balanced and un-overwhelming (but not underwhelming!), which is something that I've been searching for for a long time.

I'm going to totally agree with the score ilounge gave the buds, as I highly recommend them to those who find it less than convenient (and unsafe!) to use IEMs. The V-Moda team did a fantastic job with these buds, and I look forward to their future models.

If anybody has any questions about them, please, fire away!
