Hello all, I've been reading through these forums for a while and the info from this site is great for everything about the Ipod.
One question for all you Ipod afficionados.... I'm looking to be an Ipod owner very soon..... does anyone know where I can buy a 3rd Gen 20 GB Ipod for around $450 - $500 in Canada, specifically around Toronto Canada? Most stores around here sell them for around $575 + taxes, Your help is much appreciated.

yes I tried the Canadian Apple site already - www.apple.ca..... same price $579. Unfortunately the Canadian apple site doesn't sell refurbed Ipods like what the US site has.

I don't know what that is in US dollars. How far are you from the border? They are $369 in America from the EDU store on apple.com
The Apple retail stores also honor EDU pricing, do you have a student ID and is their one in the US close enough for you to drive to?

Hey Mactraderboy, Thanks for the offer for the Ipod, however I was hoping someone in Canada would have something for sale along the price line I was looking for.
I heard If I got something shipped over from the US, I would have to pay killer fees on tariffs when it comes from US to Canada..... so I'm trying to avoid that extra charge.
For those who are interested, I came across this site which has the ipod for slightly cheaper in Canada. 3rd Gen Ipod 10GB - $434 (Canadian Dollars) - Compared to Apple.ca where they are selling for $439.... (It's not much of savings but consider the savings to be a meal you could buy at McDonalds one day :) )

you only have to pay tarrifs if you claim the full value of the ipod. If you find someone to buy it from and they declare the value as $30 worth of computer stuff then you only have to taxes on the $30
