Help needed with Ipod and Itunes

Is it possible to get your tunes to play in itunes but not transfer to your ipod???

I have unticked the box's but then the tracks dont play in itunes.

Welcome. Disconnect the iPod from iTunes and then check the songs again. If the songs are unchecked then they will not play in iTunes. Only checked songs will play. All unchecked songs will be skipped. Using Shift + Alt + Ctrl will stop the iPod from auto syncing when connected also clicking the "x" in the iTunes window will stop auto syncing.

If you have the iPod connected because your using the computer to charge the ipod then either use the adapter to charge it or eject it from iTunes but leave it connected to the computer. Once you do though don't close iTunes or when you reopen it the iPod will connect again.
