A friend who was returning from Japan recently offered to pick up some earbuds for me on the way back, and after a bit of research here I decided the Panasonic HJE-50 was the model for me.
Unfortunately there was a bit of a mix-up at the purchase stage and what I ended up with was the "neckstrap" style HNJ-50 instead.
They sound great, but that's where the goodness ends. The thing's got a great big neckstrap alright - which terminates in a microscopically thin cord and plug of less than 1cm in length! The way they're packaged implies that an extension cord is included, but this turns out to be a tiny adapter cable to plug into a mobile phone (presumably Panasonic's).
Now, the packaging seems to suggest that you're meant to attach your music player to the strap and dangle it around your neck. Doing this with a 30G video iPod in a Belkin leather case is, of course, impossible.
So what to do? Have I missed out on getting an extension cable in my package? Or is this all by design and I'm stuck with unusable earbuds?
