Three plus hours looking through the Ilounge forums did not address this question, least I could not find it??
Some of my music does not play through my Ipod,(use to) though it shows it listed complete with artist name, song title and correct play time. This music does play in Winamp and windows media player. I am using Ephpod as my ipod interface and the music comes from a couple of different sources. I am running windows xp with an HP computer, Pentium 4, 3.06 ghz, 504mb ram.currant version, Ipod 3.1.1 for windows
That is the jist . The rest of my babble my or my not be of any significance.
My ipod is set as a hard drive,(j)
I have only one Dir. Listed in ephpod for my library, though I do have music files in other Dir.
When I have my ipod connected to itunes it will let me drop and drag directly to the ipod icon, MOST of those no play files and that works. Those it won’t seem to be the same song’s that Itunes won’t let me add to a play list in itunes??
I found in the forum that ephpod can do strange things and that some like it and some don’t. Media Center 9 sound very intuitive and complet ,( I think I’ll try it out) but so did RED Chair soft ware that I found through Ilounge.
I am trying to learn as little as possible but not be at the mercy of Itunes. All I want is to be able to find the artist and title and for it to PLAY!

I don't use either of the softwares you mentioned but Red Chair Anapod doesn't have very good support and you should check that out before you decide on a purchase. If you have any problems you will have to count on others that use the software for help.

The software below will transfer music to and from the iPod. Some are freeware and will do what you want. Read them if you decide to use one. Some like YamiPod and SharePod go on the iPod HD so that you will always have them available when you connect it to any computer.
