Whenever I try to add Album Artwork, it goes about halfway and gives me the following message:
The iPod cannot be updated. An unknown error occured (-50).
and only some of my artwork shows up on my ipod....
wtf is this error?

I'm getting the same error message. Tried all the updating, synching, and all. Still getting that same error message.

Mac OS X 10.1: "Error Code -50" Alert Appears When Copying Files From a Remote Disk.
When trying to copy files created by other users from a remote disk to the local Mac OS X startup disk, the root user may see an alert box with the message "Error code -50" .When you are logged in as the root user and you try to copy files from a remote disk to the local Mac OS X startup disk, an alert box with this message appears:
"Sorry, the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred (Error code -50)." You can get further info about this specific error related to your iPod by calling Customer Service or Tech support try downloading the latest iPod Updater or doing the ipod reset (First Reset, Then retry a reset again) or do a full Restart.
