Hey, Are there any nano bluetooth headphones? I've been searching for some, but it seems that most of the bt headphones are for full-sized ipods.
Thanks for any replies

I'm not at all convinced that Bluetooth gives sufficient data rate to give decent audio quality with portable headphones. If you've encoded your music at 192 kbps and bluetooth can't transfer at that rate then you'll get a sub-par listening experience.

Bluetooth is OK for voice (phone) but I'd prefer to have good quality and wires for listening to music.

I would like bluetooth for working. My earbud wire was constantly being pulled out of my ipod, so that was really incovenient when I was working on the yard. It would also be nice for running, but I'm sure I would still use my earbuds. I need bluetooth headphones with an adapter that will still allow me to use my belt clip.

Bluetooth 1.2 is capable of 720 kbps. Problem is that the headphones themselves are not capable of decoding mp3, so with the A2DP stereo bluetooth profile, the music is encoded and streamed at 340 kbps in some other format (SBC, i think it's called), which I imagine would have a loss of quality. In practice, I'm using the iCombi AP21 bluetooth adapter (purchased from Oakley) with my Nano, in combination with Motorola HT820 stereo bluetooth headphones, and the sound quality is excellent. I love the combination.

I just happened to be listening to the GizWiz podcast and they were singing the praises of this:

I've be interested in them if they sound decent for running. They look like they might be good with a hat since they're behind the head. I am tired of my Sony earbud wires getting all gnarly.

So that's the icombi adapter i have ($50 by itself at Oakley). I have them paired with my Motorola HT820s stereo bluetooth headphones, and they work great with the nano. Only trouble is that the battery life of the nano suffers somewhat-- only 6 hours or so.

What is the size of the dongle. Is it the same as the Nano width. can you post a photo with it connected to your ipod please.

Jabra will have an adaptor out soon that has it's own battery, so the Nanos battery life will be fine. http://goldcoaster.wordpress.com/2006/07/25/earbuds-without-wires-soon-with-the-ipod-bluetooth-adaptor/

Is there smaller BT earphones around? something getting down to earbud size?

Here's the iCombi adapter (it's identical to the Anycom BluNa):

The adapter looks pretty nice-- adds a little less than an inch to the nano's length, but it's not much thicker and the width is almost flush with the nano. It can be used with other ipods by removing the adapter lip, but it doesn't look as nice with the other ipods.

I considered waiting for the Jabra A125s, but at the time, i didn't like the idea of having to charge a separate device, and thought that the built-in battery would mean that it was going to be bulkier and heavier. I guess I'll have to wait to see if that's the case.

that website is selling the icombi adapter I've been raving about (in a package including iCombi headphones). $130 is not a bad deal, if you like those headphones. Otherwise, you can get the adapter by itself at Oakley for $50, then pair them with any A2Dp-capable headphones.

Anyone know if this adaptor will fit in Gen2 Nano bottom? I don't have a first generation here to compare?

Also, would sure like it in black (earphones 2.)

I have the BT Jensen setup and it is really cumbersome.

Dongle completely defeats purpose of portablity, and headset is hard material and also heavy.

I guess I could call manufactuer (will do,) but just curious if anyone knows.

Are the earphones (iCombi) small and lightweight?

Here's a picture of the New Nano with the iCombi adapter. It's no longer flush with the Nano, due to the dock connector being a little closer to the edge compared to the 1G Nano. I use my iCombi adapter with Motorola HT820s, so I can't speak to the iCombi headphones.

Hey, thanks a lot. That helps me make a decision.

I think I'll wait till they come out with a fitted (black) version.

P.S. and BTW, I'm _loving_ the new 8 gig Nano. So slick!
