suddenly about a month ago, limewire magically appeared on my itunes. this is odd because i've never even visited limewire or any other music sharing site. the even scarier thing is that is has my name. the folder is named "Joe Blow's LimeWire Tunes" where "Joe Blow" is my real name. i cannot get rid of it! there is no way to delete this folder. if you right click on it, you have the option of disconnecting or opening it, no delete. if i try to load it to see what's in the folder so i can determine if one of my kids did it, it appears to load for a few seconds then bumps me to my main library folder.
can anyone help me get rid of this?

Well, clearly you or someone in your household installed LimeWire because it would not just "magically appear." To get rid of it, go into your "add/remove" programs and uninstall LimeWire.
Otherwise, I believe the "Joe Blow's LimeWire Tunes" reference is just a playlist, which means you can delete it in the same way you delete any other playlist -- just highlight it and press the "delete" key.

limewire does not show in add/remove programs (that's the first thing i checked when this thing showed up) and the folder will not delete when i press the delete key. btw, it was not "clearly" me who installed limewire; personally, i want nothing to do with ANY file sharing programs due to risk of viruses, etc. the kids say they didn't do it either (not sure i believe them, but...). any other ideas?
oh, one other thing--when i click on the limewire folder, i get the progress bar in the upper center of itunes, like it's trying to go online and download something but after a few seconds, it bounces to the main library folder. it's like it's trying to go and get something off the internet but the underlying software is not there anymore.

Something that ends up on your computer that neither you nor anyone else that uses it installed and that you cannot get rid of via the usual means = virus or spyware! If I were you I'd hire a computer geek to get rid of it and anything else that might be there before it's too late. Some spyware programs cannot be deleted via the usual means. I had a ton of them once when I tried to delete they'd copy twice before they deleted. The geek got rid of 'em in a half hour.
