I'm running iTunes 6.0.4.2 on Windows XP. Just recently, iTunes won't import files or folders. I have songs on my hard drive in a folder. I choose File|Add File to Library or File|Add Folder to Library, and select either a song, or a whole folder of songs. The command looks like it executes, but the iTunes Library doesn't have the songs.

The files are unprotected .mp3's from another networked computer in my house that have been moved over to my 'C' hard drive - in "My Music"

It looks like one other user has posted a similar problem. If this gets more common, your comments are greatly appreciated.

Welcome. Click on the songs and see if they play on the computer and if they will open in iTunes.

This happened to me. I transferred the contents of my old Dell DJ to my pc. Then I installed itunes and it added maybe half of the contents. The ones that it didn't add were checked "Read Only" for some reason. And when I tried to uncheck that it would not let me. Dunno why. I had to rerip those albums. I think they'd play in WMP too, but I won't swear to that. They were unprotected mp3.
