Hello all, I'm looking for some earphones for the iPod Video.
Up to now, I had Sony MDR-EX70LP Earbuds (or a very similar model) for a few years, but the right earphone has a much lesser volume than the left...and I want to change to get white ones.
I was going to get the Apple earbuds, but people keep complaining about them slipping out and that the sound is bad, are they worse than the Sony's?
To be honest, the Sony's fall out too when I work out, so I just put a headband on that covers my ears and keeps them in.

I'm also looking for a remote as it annoys me to have to get the iPod out of the bag each time I want to change something, is the Apple one ok or is there a better one out there?
On my old minidisc player, I used to have one that displayed the song name, is there one that does that for the iPod (or that will be out soon)?
What would you guys do?
Thanks,

I'd get the iPod radio remote (it's a good little remote, and the radio feature is neat) and use it in conjunction with the Panasonic HJE70. The HJE70 is light-coloured aluminium, not white, but is stylish and goes with the iPod well.
I'm increasingly coming to the view that it's the best in-ear canal phone available for less than $200 (it's $69) and I say that as someone who owns the Sennheiser CX300 (great if you like lots of bass), the Audio Technica ATH CK7 (great if you don't), the Sony EX51, 70 and 71 (dreadful muddy sound), the Etymotic ER6 (cold, clinical, shrill), the Shure E2C (terribly uncomfortable) and E3C (overrated), the Ultimate Ears SuperFi 3 (poor) and SuperFi 5 (great, but very expensive), the JVC HA FX55 (mediocre but a better cheap alternative to the Sony EX series) and various others.
If you're absolutely hung up on white headphones, then it's the SuperFi 5, or wait for the new Panasonic HJE71s, if they exist.

The exact model I have is the Sony MDR-EX70.
Are they better than the Apple earbud ones?

EX71s sound worse, fit better.
Buy the Panasonic HJE70 or the Sennheiser CX300

Hi,
Read the CX 300 reviews on Amazon, they look great...
Why no white version though?
On eBay, there's a guy selling "OEM" white ones...what do you think?

The sound from the Apple In Ears isn't too bad (I prefer these to my Sony 81's now). They are my earphone choice for working out. I am not sure if the Sony 70's have the same eartips as the 71's and 81's. If they do, you can use your Sony Eartips on the Apple In Ears for a much better fit.

Thanks,
Would this be better than the CX300's, if I combined the two?

I have never tried the CX 300's. Using the Sony eartips is just an option if you're set on getting the Apple In Ears but are afraid of the eartips fitting properly.

What I'm looking for is the best earbuds for around $50-$60, if possible white...

The CX300 outperforms Apple in-ears, regardless of the tips.
You need to choose.
Colour or sound quality.

What do you make of the ones on eBay that are "white CX300s" then?
Fakes?
Also, what is the difference between the CX300 and CX300s (it's not just "s for silver" apparently...
Thanks,
