Problems since last firmware update.

Hey,

First of all, I have a 30gb iPod Photo. Ever since I updated the the firmware from January I am experiencing some problems. Basically what happens is whenever I plug in my ipod and sync, iTunes, on top of updating new songs, updates every song on my ipod that has been played on my computer since the last update. This leaves me with updates of 100+ songs every time I sync. Anyone know what the problem is? If it is the firmware, how do I roll back without restoring?

The play count has changes, therefore the play counts on the iPod and in iTunes are different, therefore it updates. Don't think it has anything to do with the latest firmware, its just iTunes doing what it does.
