After reading Jackonicko's reviews, and deciding I liked the aesthetics of the ATH-CK7 more than those of the Panasonic HJE-70, I've ordered myself a pair through Audiocubes. Not sure how long they'll take to get to the UK, but I'm off on to Germany with my school on Tuesday morning so I doubt I'll get them in time for that. Did I make a good purchase? I certainly hope I did.

Ok, they've arrived - and I'm burning them in with a combination of pink noise (http://www.george.slashmedia.co.uk/things/pink.wav) and some 12-24000Hz sine wave sweeps (http://www.george.slashmedia.co.uk/things/sinesweep.wav) Download them if you want, don't if you don't.
After about 1 day of burn in, the highs are a little harsh for my adolescent ears, and the bass seems to be of the same power as my old EX-71s, but more tuneful - music which I had previously thought contained thumps turn out to have a bass melody. The earphones allow me to hear things in the music I hadn't heard with my other earphones.
Once I get a bit more money I might buy a pair of HJE-70s and compare them. Or I might not. Whatever floats my boat.

well i just got my ATH CK7 a few days ago, listened to them for about 20 hours, and litterally heard the difference from before the burn in to curretly. Let me tell you that these headphones are amazing! they were not as bassy as the Hje70s, but bassy enough w/my NANO. They are more balanced then the HJE70s though. I think a little bit too balanced sometimes that i think my headphones had problems, but this isnt the case! they fit well, i gave my HJE70s to my brother, as i didnt like how bulky it was. but if they made something smaller like the CK7 i would get them again.
to end off, i like the CK7 alot, more then the 70s.
cheers

Dayroc, would you mind telling me how much isolation this headphone has? Like, how much ambience noise can you still hear?
Thanks a lot!

the Ck7's isolation is awesome. I like it more then the HEJ70s because it is samller and less bulky. I wanted something conealable and small. The CK7s are so comfortable that i've fallen asleep a few times while listening to them, and waking up the next morning w/them still in my ears (they actaully stay in, where as when i have the HJE70s on they fall out, due to the bulkness and the long metal stem).
as for the noise i say it blocks out like 70-80% of the outside noise.
hope this helps,
cheers
