I just got my super.fi 5 Pro's and I am thrilled with them. I am hearing details in my music that I never knew was there. I am just glad I re-ripped my music at 320 kbps! Anyway, I have a question about the fit. I am pretty sure that I have them inserted in my ear canal correctly, because everything sounds great, but it seems that even with the flexible wire going around the back of my ears, they are slightly loose and could fall out if I was doing anything like running. Is this normal? Thanks in advance.

iems are not ment for running

you could try using smaller tips and insterting them deeper

Even just sitting there, I have the smallest silicone tips on and they gradually lose bass as they slowly fall out, even if i'm not doing anything. This has to be a fit issue, so I am wondering how i can get them to fit best.

welcome to the lounge :)

i started off using the small tips, but now use the large - it's a good idea to try them all out to see what suits you the best. as for inserting it, i push the tips in at right angles to my ear canal, and then when it seems like it won't go any further i push the body of the UEs back so that the tips 'settle' forward and you notice the 'seal'. i also have the memory wire very close in to the back of my ear.

also make sure yu give the foamies a go as well - some people prefer them to the normal tips.

Don't forget to adjust the memory wires to fit to your head! :) they are bendable, and they come pretty wide by default, once you bend them down a little everything feels a lot more secure! ;) they also fit in the tin & the pouch better!

Enjoy your UEs! :D

My first suggestion would be to move up to the medium-sized tips and see if they fit a little tighter.

Second, a trick a doctor taught me to get ear plugs to seat properly also works well with IEMs: Reach over the top of your head with your oposite hand, and pull the top of your ear up and away from your head slightly. This will straighten out your ear canal just a little bit, and the IEM will slide in a little farther.

Definitely try all the tips. Get the fit wrong and the sound is compromised, and the design makes it IMO harder than necessary to get a good fit. That's the biggest weakness I see about the Super.Fi's. Sonically, they're excellent value for money for an IEM but the fit design is not as consistent as competing Shure and Etymotic products. Isolation is also way lower than Shures and Etys unless you get a really good fit, which I've found tricky.
