Ok so I have the two RCA cables hooked up to my line-in on my CD player and everything, but for some reason, the sound only comes out of my front two speakers and not even through my sub. I have to put the CD reciever volume to 1 and the iPods to full to be able to hear the iPods music; otherwise the radio or if CD will just play over the sound.

How do I get it to play though all the speakers? Would it be a setting on my CD player do you think? (I don't think I have the user manual and I played around with it for awhile)

Any help would be appricated.

I hope this is the right board to post this on, if not, sorry :]

Hmmm!

I guess providing the make and model of your car and CD player might help out.

If your head unit has a line-in, doesn't it have an option for it, maybe called "Input" or "CD Changer" or something?

It's odd that the CD player or radio would have to play OVER the signal coming into the inputs. Maybe it really is set up that way, but it's odd. Maybe you need a new HU.

Could you provide us with the model of HU that you have? Maybe then someone will know what you're really talking about.

It sounds to me like you've connected up to the line OUT on your stereo, that would probably cause this strange behaviour.

Check the manual for your stereo.

...I'm pretty sure I have it connected to line-in. I don't have the manual for my stereo either because the car just came with the CD player (and if they did give us a manual, I lost it). Maybe I can find one online.

No one else has this cd player or one like it?
