Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. I have an iPod Video 60gb. Running Itunes 6.04 on WinXP. Everything was fine for past few months. Have a total of 10gb on iPod at current time.

All of a sudden when I connect iPod with Itunes it shows VOLDATA for iPod name instead of Bobs iPod. It also shows ",201,200 gb total' and '201 gb available'.

Fortunately it has not deleted any files on either my iPod or computer. But the only way I can get it to stop is by disconnecting the iPod cable (while Do not Disconnect message is still present). Reinstalling iPod installer helped for a bit but then it would revert to the VolData. And now reinstalling IPod Updater does not have any effect either.

Any ideas what is happening or what I can do to resolve?

Thanks in advance.

Bob

Welcome. Use the Updater to restore the iPod. This will erase the iPod HD and set it back to factory settings so make sure your library is backed up.
