Hello. I'm new here so forgive me if someone else has already posted this question, I apologize if so.
I just received a new ipod shuffle as a gift, but quickly found out that I cant use it because I am running Windows ME.
I basically just want to upload songs that I have on my computer into the shuffle, nothing more. Is there anyway shape or form that I can do this with my operating system, and without having to go out and purchase additional software?
Any help (in lamens terms...lol) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much in advance!!
Kevin

Well, what happened at first was, i tried to install the disk that came with it. It then told me that I couldnt install it because I wasnt running XP or 2000. So, I did plug in the shuffle yesterday just to see what would happen and to charge it. I got the eject hardware insignia in the tray bar and when i go to "my computer" it does show it as "d". But i'm trying to figure out how to transfer songs from my computer to the ipod and just cant seem to find out how to do it without first installing the disk which it wont allow me to do.
Any help is appreciated!!
Thanks!!!!
Kev

Have you tried a 3rd party program like XPlay or EphPod?

No, i havent tried either of those yet, but was told about xplay2. I was just hoping that someone might have a solution as opposed to having to purchase additonal software.
Still hoping...lol
Thanks for the input and if you hear of anything please let me know.
Thanks,
Kev

Just to let everyone know, this situation has been solved. Very easliy I might add. I went to mediafour (dot com) and downloaded a free trial of xplay2 and within minutes i had my ipod shuffle loaded with all of my songs. I will be purchasing this product at the end of the free trial and would recommend that anyone else with this problem do the same.
Thank you to all who tried to help me out.
If ever in the S.E Michigan area, please look me up and catch one of my performances.
