We know Shure supply foam and flex sleeves (made from "pliable plastic") for the Shure series 2 earphones but some owners would prefer a triple flange sleeve for more comfort and a better acoustic seal.

Triple flange I saw on another brand of in-ear headphones just felt so squishy and potentially comfy. I vote yes for squishy triple-flange!!

Foamies and silicones are un-usable for me...

Sugarfried, where are you????:D

I've tried custom ear molds, foamies, hard silicon sleeves, soft silicon sleeves (using the EX70 modifications--so far, the foamies are the best for the Shure's...But, I have the soft triple flanged sleeves for my Ety's, and these are by far the best for me, and, if they could be manufactured for the E2's, would be a wonderful addition...

Wow, I just reread that, and came to the conclusion that I've been sticking way too many things in my ears....

Heck, I want them more. One of the folks over at head-fi tried a bunch of different custom molds, and he ended up liking the triple-flange plugs best on the e5.

Yeah, I tried custom molds for the E2's, and I wouldn't recommend them--Triple Flanged is the way to go..

We've been talking about this recently. A triple flange would be didfficult for the E2 for a few reasons. But we've come up with a new sleeve that will be introduced with a new product that will come out early next year, and it might be possible for us to fit one for the E2. It'll definitely take a few months, so I'll keep you updated when progress is made.

Sugarfried,
If you need some ears to trial your new E2 sleeves on Chris has just about stuffed every conceivable kind of thing into his lugs - in fact I fear he may end up looking like Plug from the Bash Street Kids (http://www.paulmorris.co.uk/beano/strips/bashstreet.jpg) - LOL...

LMAO--yep, that's me in the middle...My audiologist, at my last clinic visit, found the remains of Jimmy Hoffa in my left ear, and the Meaning of Life in my right ear. Once she got those suckers out of there, my E2's sounded a whole lot better...

But if you need any testers, I'd be all over that. And the Shure E5's too, I REALLY think they need more testing, lot's of conflicting data on those, you can send me a pair of those too with the triple flange sleeves, then I can see if they're twice as good as my ETy 4P's. Actually just send me anything expensive and innovative, heck, I'll test it for you...:D

Oh yeah, and to have a completely balanced opposite-side-of-the-world comparison, test, review, experiment, whatever, you'll need to send the same to me - well, not the exact same, cos if they've been in his ears I wouldn't even put them in my dogs ears. In fact I wouldn't put them in your dog's ears - I have heard his cerumen outflow eclipsed the eruption of Mount Pinatubo back in '91...

:D :D

Well, that is true, but there are worse things that can get impacted than cerumen....

Bob, I see you brought up the E3's in the other thread...While you're at it Sugarfried, go ahead and send us a pair of those too--it would be inconvienent, dangerous, and extremely difficult, but what the heck, we're in such a good mood, we'd be happy to test those for you too. We're willing to sacrifice for the good of the lounge....:D

And Bob, I'm sending my custom earmolds to your dogs, maybe they can get some use out of them...

Chris,
Only have one dog now. And the thought had crossed my mind about getting custom earmolds made to try and combat the noise phobia she suffers from. It would probably mean having to sedate her to get impressions made, but with another 6 years or more ahead of her it may be a reasonable investment.
We stuffed wads of cotton wool in her ears, then put ear defenders over the top, to try and cut down on firework noise one year. Duct Tape did not come into the equation you'll be glad to know!
