:) Hi everyone! I've just a quick question about downloading songs onto your IPOD. Do you need to have something special on your computer to do that? I have just a regular computer. I know you need some type of download program (I'm looking for free ones right now) but i was just wondering if i just hook the ipod up to my computer or do i need something special? ie - microphone, etc...... Thank you!!

Hello.
Thank you for your response!! I think i should have been a little more clear--i meant like do i need to go out and purchase something to hook up to my computer to do this or do i just download a program from the internet (like the link you kindly posted for me) and then just download some songs. :D

Your computer must have a USB-2 port to charge and load music onto your ipod. You can connect the ipod to a Firewire port for charging only.

a retail nano box contains usb link that can send your songs from your computer to your nano. No need for any other wires.
The newest winamp has ipod support on it and its free. It was always a great media player for many people and adding ipod support made it that much better.
