for headphones mainly, not file transfer. I hate all headphone wires. They are always getting caught and popping the buds out of my wires. i also imagine some other uses for it.
I imagine they could even sync it up to bluetooth phones and record conversations. That could be cool. Or use something like the ericsson clicker for the remote control instead of the dumb one that came with it.

the amount of transferable data with bluetooth headphones isn?t enough for music headphones. works for mobile phones, but not for portable music players. a new form of wireless technology has to be developed.

Oh, and voice control. I assume that is in the plans since it can record and i bet that the firmware can be tweaked to allow voice commands through the new mic that is assumed to be in the makings.
Ya know, bluetooth could work. You'd just need enough memory in the headset to be able to buffer a track or two (or three or four)

Isn't bluetooth really slow? I remember using an early bluetooth device that was incredibly slow... Using bluetooth headphones with the iPod would be like playing RealMedia (Buffering....) :D

How about a bluetooth remote control so there are no leads at all. That would be cool... bluetooth headphones and remote, i would snap one of them puppies up!!

there isn?t too much of a point in having a bluetooth remote, if the pod still has cabled earphones. maybe if it?s connected to your stereo system. check out this link (http://ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=13796#post13796) for a similiar discussion.
