Hello dear ipodLounge members!
I'm looking to get an ipod about 2 months, and my cousins buyed me a 3G iPod, i read all this forum, from the beginning and the end and i was ready to open the BOX.
They suprised me and give me the iPod. I opened the box and it was a miracle!
Then, I charged my iPod (like 4 hours), i plugged into wall, and iPod started to charge and then he said that he's charged.
I have a Dell laptop and my firewire port is 4 pin. I unplugged the charge cable and i connected to the PC with the 6 pin to 4 pin firewire and i inserted iPod CD for iPod Services. I installed iPod Manager and i rebooted.
After the reboot, iPod manager opened, and recognized my iPod, but he said that he will update the firmware to 2.01 and he will format my iPod for Windows.
He updated and formatted, then he rebooted my iPod, i plugged my iPod to charge unit again, and TA-DA. My iPod was waked up!
I was at apple.com/ipod website and i saw firmware update from .2.01 to 2.1. I downloaded it, and install it.
My Windws recognized, and i downloaded ephPod to transfer music.
Which software do you recommend?
