Does anyone else with the Griffin SmartDeck tape adaptor get periodic LOUD bursts of static mid-song? I have a 2000 Toyota Celica and the adaptor works well enough for me (cassette tape controls don't work, but that's fine), except for this occasional problem. It happens whether I'm accelerating, decelerating or at a stop, and scares the crap out of me every time. I am talking LOUD static - the first time it happened I thought an explosion had occured nearby. I immediately turn off the radio and if I turn it on again the iPod (Mini) plays fine. But it's gotten to where I don't want to play it at all in the car in fear of having my eardrums burst. Anyone else have this? Why is this happening? What can I do to stop it?
