*put "http://" before the links to see if my problem is even worth worrying about. Need help. :(

Yeah sorry for blurry pictures, the camera I'm using is old and I don't feel like focusing the crap.

On the left of the wheel, it has a small gap, as if it leans to the right. It was like this when I opened the iPod, but I thought all would be like that.

At least for the white video iPods I've seen, other other ones don't have that huge of a gap as mine does. The black video iPods the wheel I've noticed is actually lower in the face-plate, rather than the white ones, where the wheel is slightly higher than the front face.

I already have the packaging from apple to send it in, but I'm fearing that they'll just dismiss the problem and send it back.. with a waiting time of 2 months. =\

No.

I personally have not seen a single 5g white ipod without that problem and it has absolutely no effect on the performance of the ipod. Is it really that big of a deal?

Even mine suffers from that disorder. Thats why people buy black. The black have that but it's really hard to notice.

I agree.... whats the big deal about it? Nearly everyone? Everyone have that lean.

Well I think so. Mine is a little more obvious I've noticed than other white 5Gs.

You say you haven't seen one without that problem, so is it a defect in all or what? If I knew, I would've got a black iPod, which has a good wheel.

wow you people are finding the dumbest excuses to exchange your iPod. it works fine dont it? i don't think your hard drive has failed because of it, so just don't worry about it, and stop trying to rip apple off.

I had the same "prob" on my iPod and sent it pack to Apple to get it replaced. I think this is quite a major optical flaw which does "destroy" the sleek look of the iPods front. One thing that IMHO puts the ipod infront of other mp3 players is it's look, so if a fault is observed here I expect Apple to replace the product. And producing an iPod with an even and gapless clickwheel was no prob in the 4g generation, so why now with the 5g's? I read that Apple wanted to cut costs and produce their own, it seems inferior, clickwheel. So I also have no problems with sending it back and showing Apple that they made a mistake..

I had to wait for 4 weeks (!) but at least the replacement was better, although a small(er) gap is still visable.

All the 5G iPod's I have seen, have this little space on the clickwheel. Nothing to worry about too :) As long as it works fine, I'm not complaining :)

lol, i wait for the day, when people start returning their ipods b/c their friends no longer think they are cool for having one, which is obviously a flaw on apple's part, hands down

i don't think apple will exchange for that

As I posted, Apple exchanged mine for this. Everything else was perfectly in order, so Apple must have exepted this reason for an exchange.

Hah thanks, the answer I was hoping to hear. :p

I'll try to send it in this week or next. That gap is what I always look at when I take out my iPod.
