First time user, need help

I purchased my first ipod about 2 weeks ago and im still a bit unsure on certain things. your help is much appreciated

I cant remove certain songs off my playlist. is this because i deleted the mp3 files from the ipod as though it was a flash drive?
i.e. my computer -> ipod -> delete mp3 file

if so can anyone please tell me how i can remove these songs off my playlist?

another thing is whenever i connect my ipod to my pc and transfer files there is always a tremendous drain on the battery. (around 2 bars) is this normal? the max the ipod is connected is around 10 mins

download iTunes off www.apple.com/itunes . use this to edit your play lists etc. To sync an iPod with a PC does drain power a lot so yes this is normal. To fix this get a Mac because an iPod charges when connected to a Mac. Also you say it drains in bars on the battery, this sounds like you have old iPod softwear on your iPod, Probably 2.0 so download 2.1 off www.apple.com/ipod
