I have a 4g 20gb ipod color/photo and it is still under the 1 year warranty. When i got it, it had dead pixels on the display. on the display it has a black line going down the center of the display. i ignored it since i got it but now that the new 5g ipod came out i was wondering if i could return my 4g for a 5g since it is till under warranty. will this work? will they supply me with a brand new 5g ipod?

no they will supply you with a refurbished 20GB iPod.

but you may be able to pay a 15% restocking fee and pay the difference between the 20GB iPod and 5G ipod. and that would be your upgrade.

I doubt you'll get away with the restocking fee unless it's in A1 condition. As it's faulty I guess that's not the case. Of course all that is assuming that CJNeverWinter is the the US.
