My 4th Generation USB plug from the dock no longer fits in the USB inputs on my computer (a new Dell). I've got 4 USB inputs on my computer and it doesn't fit on any of them so I don't think it's the computer.
Anyone know where I can get a new 4th generation dock? Also, does anyone know if there is an accessory out there that allows you to plug a 4th generation into various different types of inputs on your computer? (in case it's a problem with my computer's USB inputs)
Thanks!

I've got a brand new dell and both my 4G USB plugs work in all the inputs. You must have damaged the lead. The lead is purely a Dock Connector to standard USB lead, you don't need the actual dock itself, just the lead.
If it worked in your old computer then something strange is going on. There is no convertor connecter as the lead you have should work.
I know it sounds lame, but you do realise that USB leads only work one way!

Something is missing here. Either you damaged the USB 2.0 end of the cord, aren't using USB 2.0 and are using firewire (it has 6 sides instead of 4), or you have the USB 2.0 end of the cord upside down.
As awheewall said, you don't need a new dock. You just need a new iPod USB 2.0 cable if that is the cause of your problem. You can purchase a dock but it won't come with any of the cables, it will just come with the dock. You would still need to buy the USB 2.0 cable.
As far as other cables, no. The 4G iPod supports PC connection ONLY through USB 2.0 or Firewire, nothing else.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they discontinued Firewire connections in the 5G iPod and Nano

but hes talking 4G, so perhaps he is using a firewire cable?
