WOW what a difference! That was my first thought after hooking up the iPod2Car and listening to music through my factory radio. I have a 2000 Acura Integra and it took about 1 1/2 hours to hook it up - I'm no pro so someone who's more familiar with taking apart their console etc. will probably do it much quicker. Once I got everything taken apart, it was completely plug n play (don't know how it is with other cars). I originally purchased the Monster FM modulator thing for $85 - JUNK. I got so much static when using that thing. I recommend getting the iPod2Car to anyone who wants GREAT sound from their iPod. So far I have no gripes about this product. Being able to control the iPod from the factory radio is a nice feature if that's what you're looking for, (I have a custom mount for my iPod next to the shifter and e-brake - $5 for that - so I still use the iPod for all controls). The sound is incredible which is the reason I got this - at $150 it's a steal. If you have a little extra cash and are still trying to decide what you want - look no further. This is all you'll need.

I agree. I installed the Ipod2Car in my 2001 Explorer and now I hate leaving my car!! Actually, my first feelings were less than enthusiastic thanks to the extremely low volume I was getting upon initial installation. After calling Peripheral's fairly useless tech support(they knew nothing about the problem I was experiencing and said it was probably my Ipod's fault), I was resigned to listening to my Ipod via this connection at volumes that were about 50% lower than the radio and CD outputs of my factory radio. Then, while perusing these very forums, I stumbled upon a thread of a poor soul like me who had the same low volume problem I was suffering from. Someone (God bless him!!) offered up a solution that cured my problem. It was as simple as toggling a dip switch (#6) to the on position. Why no one at Peripheral could come up with this solution is anybody's guess, but thanks to Eric L, my Ipod now delivers crisp and punchy CD sound quality at the same volumes as the CD player and radio. I now couldn't be happier with the performance of this product! It definitely blows the doors off of an FM modulator or cassette adapter. If only the company that made it knew a little something about it's own product, I'd be able to recommend and endorse this solution to everyone.
