Did you enable the aux input on the 9815 by going into setup?

I have a 9815 with a KCA-420-i also. When I toggle the source button it goes through the list until I get to Changer which comes after AUX. If it's not getting to Changer any number of things could be wrong. The first rule is to check all connections. The back of the head unit, the input on the adapter, the output and the ipod itself. If still no go, if you know anyone else who has a KCA-20i you could test your unit in their system along with swapping cables to see if the cables might be the problem. Good Luck!

Don't forget to try a working kca-420i with your head unit to rule out the 9815 or it's connection in the back.
