update to my p.o.'ed state

ok... i finally figured it out...

my ipod was conected as and hd but would not mount or be recognized in itunes or the updater..

i am using firewire and xp...40 gig 3rd gen ipod

my os runs off my f: drive instead of a usual c: drive....

so when my ipod would come up as an hd... it would be called "ipod:c"

as in the c drive...

so i said hell i'll change the drive letter for #####s and giggles...

so i changed it to i:

and i'll be d@mned it worked....

i updated it with 2.1 and works with itunes perfectly

so as a last ditch effort try that...

Yup, the Updater can't read an iPod drive letter any lower that D:\, I believe it even has problems when the iPod is assigned D: as a drive letter.

Also, I've read reports that the Updater doesn't run properly when it's installed anywhere other than C:\Program Files.

Interesting that you got it to work.
